Deep knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and energy management. You’re fluent in preventative maintenance, compliance, and asset protection. You’re comfortable managing large operating budgets, capital projects, and aligning engineering strategy with broader business goals. You're known for building high-performing teams through inspiring coaching, clear direction, and a strong focus on talent development. You navigate change with integrity, resolve conflicts effectively, and make innovative, results-driven decisions. A Glance at What You Will Do As Director of Engineering, you’ll partner with your Assistant Chief Engineer to lead all things technical, operational, and strategic to ensure W Melbourne is always running at best performance. You’ll be responsible for: Supervise and lead daily operations, new projects, renovations, and refurbishments to ensure quality execution on time and within budget. Oversee departmental budgeting, payroll, capital planning, and cost control across utilities, service contracts, and maintenance operations. Manage the hotel’s physical plant including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems, ensuring full compliance with all local regulations and brand standards. Partner with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences and support the success of events, operations, and brand activations Carry out any other duty/function that the Hotel Manager or General Manager may assign.
