Main Purpose of Job
Responsible for leading an engineering group in the design and manufacture of glass vial forming and processing equipment that equals or exceeds the capabilities of our competitors in the marketplace. Additionally, provide or consult on process troubleshooting solutions, continuous improvements, and product development for primary pharmaceutical packaging containers and general manufacturing support.

Main Activities and End-Results Expected

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the engineering strategy in alignment with organizational objectives. Prioritize and oversee all Machine and Assembly (MVA) projects and support services.
  • Lead the development of advanced tooling and equipment to enhance product quality, tooling longevity, and production efficiency. Approve designs and manufacturing methods for tooling and ware.
  • Ensure robust design capabilities for all Glass Converting products. Maintain control of technical documentation to support Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Customer requirements.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage engineering talent to build a high-performing team. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide plant Engineering services on multi-plant infrastructure and technical support in all areas of manufacturing operations to minimize downtime and increase the efficiency of our manufacturing facilities. Select production and support equipment and provide technical directions to plant operating personnel on operation and maintenance.
  • Assist our customers in the design and development of their products and/or equipment to optimize manufacturability of our ware and performance in their systems. Provide technical evaluation and guidance, coordinated through Sales, to assist our customers in achieving their goals with products we can manufacture profitably.
  • Lead the design and construction of modern production facilities with a focus on environmental sustainability and operational excellence.
  • Provide, organize, and maintain comprehensive documentation on all plants and equipment to facilitate future enhancements, minimize downtime and maximize plant capability. Assign and monitor the individual tasks required to implement this process.
  • Follow the 4 C’s outlined in the QMS policy - communication, commitment, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Promote teamwork and Operational Excellence in all areas.
  • Exemplifies all safety, health and environment rules, company rules, regulations and ISO procedures and work instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 7-10 years glass manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Strong strategic thinking, project management, cross-functional collaboration, and people leadership.
