Position Summary The Director of Enrollment Services provides strategic and operational leadership for all enrollment-related functions at the American University of Iraq – Baghdad (AUIB), including admissions, recruitment, enrollment planning, yield management, student records, registration, and data-informed decision-making. The Registrar reports directly to the Director of Enrollment. The position is responsible for building, executing, and continuously refining an integrated enrollment and records strategy that supports AUIB’s mission, academic quality, regulatory compliance, financial sustainability, and long-term growth targets, while aligning with American-style higher education best practices and WSCUC expectations for enrollment integrity, student success, and institutional viability. The Director works closely with academic leadership, marketing, finance, student affairs, and senior administration to ensure ethical, transparent, and student-centered enrollment and records practices. Key Responsibilities Strategic Enrollment Planning: Lead the development and execution of multi-year enrollment strategies aligned with AUIB’s Strategic Plan and financial model; establish enrollment targets by program, college, modality, and student type; monitor and manage the full enrollment funnel from inquiry through matriculation and retention; conduct enrollment forecasting and scenario planning in coordination with Finance and Academic Affairs. Admissions and Recruitment Operations: Oversee undergraduate and graduate admissions processes to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant decision-making; ensure admissions policies reflect academic standards, fairness, transparency, and institutional values; supervise recruitment initiatives including school outreach, recruitment events, and international recruitment; refine recruitment messaging in collaboration with Marketing and Communications. Registrar and Records Management Oversight: Provide strategic and operational supervision of the Registrar’s Office; ensure accurate student records, registration, grading, degree audits, transcripts, and academic status reporting; ensure compliance with institutional policies, Iraqi regulations, and accreditation requirements related to academic records; coordinate with Academic Affairs on academic calendars, course scheduling, and degree completion processes. Enrollment Data, Analytics, and Reporting: Develop and maintain enrollment and records dashboards and KPI tracking; analyze enrollment trends, yield rates, discount rates, cost-per-enrolled-student, persistence, and completion metrics; provide regular reports to the VP-ESSA, President, and Board committees; ensure enrollment and records data integrity and alignment with accreditation, audit, and reporting requirements. Financial Aid, Pricing, and Discount Strategy: Collaborate with Finance and senior leadership on tuition pricing, scholarship strategy, and discount management; monitor scholarship effectiveness and return on investment; ensure ethical and transparent financial aid practices consistent with AUIB policies. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with academic leadership on program capacity, admissions standards, and academic progress policies; partner with Marketing on lead generation and campaign effectiveness; coordinate with Student Affairs to support onboarding, orientation, and first-year success; collaborate with IT on CRM, SIS, and enrollment and records technology optimization; serve as an advisor to senior leadership on enrollment- and records-related risks and opportunities. Compliance, Policy, and Accreditation Alignment: Ensure admissions, enrollment, and registrar practices align with Iraqi regulatory requirements, AUIB policies, American-style higher education norms, and WSCUC expectations; participate in accreditation reviews, self-studies, audits, and data submissions as needed. Team Leadership and Capacity Building: Recruit, supervise, evaluate, and develop admissions, enrollment, and registrar staff; establish clear performance expectations, workflows, internal controls, and professional development pathways; foster a student-centered, service-oriented, and data-informed enrollment and records culture. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Business, or a related field; minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in enrollment management, admissions, registrar operations, or related functions in higher education; demonstrated experience in strategic enrollment planning and data-driven decision-making; strong understanding of admissions operations, student records management, recruitment strategies, and enrollment analytics; excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills; ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural, international university environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience at an American-style or internationally accredited university; familiarity with CRM and SIS platforms used in enrollment and registrar operations; experience with financial aid strategy, tuition modeling, or discount management; prior experience supporting accreditation processes such as WSCUC or comparable bodies. Demonstrated strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform planning and decision-making is also strongly valued.
