POSITION SUMMARY

The Archdiocese of Detroit is seeking a mission-aligned, detail-oriented, and relationship-driven professional to serve as the Director of Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship (EMD). This vital role provides visionary leadership and strategic oversight for multiple key ministry areas: Discipleship Formation, Family Ministry and Life Issues, Sacred Worship, Cultural Ministries, Campus Ministry and our Deaf Ministry. This role is central to enacting the Church’s mission to form and send missionary disciples, in line with Jesus’ Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).The EMD Director leads a diverse and mission-driven team to support parishes, families, and individuals across the Archdiocese of Detroit in living out the Gospel in a dynamic and transformative way.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing, with a deep commitment to the Church’s mission.
• Master’s degree in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Religious Education, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7–10 years of leadership experience in diocesan, parish, or Catholic ministry settings.
• Proven experience in strategic planning, team leadership, and organizational development.
• Familiarity with Unleash the Gospel, Synod ’16, and the “Families of Parishes” model.
