About the Role X Games is looking for a Director of Event Experiences to design and deliver the experiences that surround the competition and make each X Games event feel like a cultural moment. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role owns the ecosystem of experiences around the event, including VIP hospitality, partner events, athlete experiences, and fan activations across the host city. The Director of Event Experiences will ensure that every X Games event delivers memorable moments for athletes, partners, media, and fans. This is a highly hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and enjoys building experiences from the ground up. Responsibilities Event Experience Strategy Design the experience layer around each X Games event Develop programming that brings athletes, partners, and fans together around the competition Help ensure X Games events feel like cultural moments in each host city Hospitality & VIP Programs Lead planning and execution of VIP hospitality programs Manage partner hosting, premium guest experiences, and executive hospitality Ensure partners receive exceptional on-site experiences Athlete Experiences Develop experiences for athletes outside of competition, including welcome events, athlete lounges, and special programming Partner with athlete relations to ensure athletes have a great experience in host cities Partner & Sponsor Events Plan and execute partner dinners, brand events, and curated experiences tied to X Games Coordinate closely with the partnerships team to deliver sponsor experiences City Activations & Fan Experiences Help create city-wide moments around X Games events, including fan parties and community activations Work with marketing and host city partners to create experiences that extend beyond the competition venue Event Coordination Work closely with Event Operations to ensure experiences integrate smoothly into event logistics Manage vendors and partners responsible for hospitality, activations, and programming Qualifications 7+ years of experience producing large-scale events, hospitality programs, or brand experiences Experience working in sports, entertainment, festivals, or major live events Strong operational instincts and ability to manage multiple experiences simultaneously Excellent relationship management skills with partners, athletes, and vendors Comfortable working in a scrappy, fast-moving environment Backgrounds we like to see: Sports or entertainment events Festival production Experiential marketing agencies Hospitality and VIP event programming The base salary range for this role is $125,00 – $145,000. Compensation is determined based on factors including (but not limited to) experience, skills, job-related knowledge, and geographic location.
