DIRECTOR OF FACILITIES & ESTATES

College location: East Surrey College and John Ruskin College (Selsdon)
Salary: £65,889 (subject to qualifications, skills, and experience)
Hours: Full time: 37 hours - 08:45-17:00 Monday – Friday
Interviews: 4th and 8th of August
This exciting post provides the opportunity to work with the Directorate to assist in the development of the overall Facilities & Estate’s management strategy to provide an outstanding service. This will include the on-going review and production of cost-effective maintenance programmes, development of policies and procedures in compliance with Health and Safety regulations, maintenance of buildings cost data and the effective deployment of resources.
We are looking for an experienced people manager with strong, demonstrable experience of the management of operational services, ensuring statutory requirements as well as College policies and procedures are implemented to the highest standards.
Successful candidates must have an in-depth knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and the impact of these regulations on the facilities, hands on experience of project management, security and site management, managing budgets and leading teams.
Relevant Health and Safety qualifications, such as NEBOSH, IOSH or COSHH, are essential together with strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and use of online databases.

The successful candidate must have:

  • An appropriate Facilities related qualification BIFM Part 3 & 4 or HND equivalent in a related discipline
  • NEBOSH Certificate or other recognised Health and Safety qualifications
  • AutoCAD User qualification is desirable
  • Maths & English GCSE / Level 2 equivalent
  • Experience in the management of a medium sized and/ or multi-site estate in an educational /public sector or other service sector environment
