Description Position Overview: The Director of Finance & Accounting is responsible for leading the organization’s financial strategy, planning, reporting, and accounting operations. This role ensures the integrity of financial information, supports business decision-making through analysis and forecasting, and maintains compliance with regulatory and corporate standards. Leads and develops the finance and accounting team to align financial practices with organizational objectives. The position partners cross-functionally to drive operational efficiency and support growth initiatives within a mid-sized consumer products environment. This role also ensures the effectiveness of internal controls, financial policies, and operational accounting processes, providing oversight of all transactional and reporting activities to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance. Responsibilities: · Lead and oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, consolidations, and month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of financial data · Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, internal controls, and all applicable regulatory requirements, including oversight of financial policies, business licensing, and sales tax compliance · Establish, document, and maintain effective internal controls and financial policies to ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance · Direct the development and execution of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans · Own and oversee rolling forecasts, sales projections, and capital expenditure planning processes · Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury operations to optimize financial performance · Oversee banking infrastructure, including account management, electronic payments, and cash forecasting processes · Provide strategic financial insights and partner with executive leadership to support business decisions and growth initiatives · Oversee preparation and review of accurate, timely financial and operational reporting packages · Lead external audit processes and manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and financial partners · Drive financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, including product costing and margin optimization · Support and lead financial due diligence, planning, and integration activities for acquisitions and business expansion · Oversee key accounting processes including account reconciliations, rebate programs, commission structures, and related financial systems · Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, IT, and Product teams to translate operational performance into financial insights and improve business outcomes · Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement · Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency, scalability, and data integrity · Other projects as needed Requirements Education: · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field · Additional education or certification, such as MBA or CPA, a plus Experience: · 10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, including leadership experience · 5+ years as a supervisor of accounting and financial functions · Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards · Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes · Experience developing and maintaining internal controls and compliance processes Other Requirements: · Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting tools (SAP preferred) · Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills · Experience in consumer products, sporting goods, or retail environments preferred · Experience supporting e-commerce or multi-channel business models · Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting methodologies · Familiarity with internal controls frameworks (e.g., SOX compliance) · Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or business integrations · Infrequent travel to Vancouver, WA office required Benefits: We offer an excellent compensation package and team-oriented work environment with growth opportunities.
