Director of Finance / Accounting and FP&A

Responsibilities
  • Manage all financial and accounting functions to ensure organizational success and fiscal stability.
  • Lead the development, administration and review of financial plans and budgets.
  • Oversee financial, project/program, and grants accounting, ensuring compliance with requirements.
  • Prepare and present accurate financial reports to the CEO.
  • Develop and maintain cash forecasting models to meet financial needs.
  • Supervise and lead the Finance team, providing guidance and support.
  • Perform cash flow reporting and analysis to ensure actual results align with forecasted and budgeted expectations.
  • Prepare and analyze general ledger accounts, account reconciliations and audit schedules.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and projects as dictated by business needs
  • Manage treasury and cash management including borrowing base and cash flow reporting.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of the accounting department’s staff to create a high engagement, high performance culture including hiring, on-boarding, performance metrics and evaluations, development plans, coaching, recognition and disciplinary action activities.
    Required Experience & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be an experienced accounting leader responsible for the day-to-day activities of the corporate accounting function.

  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
  • CPA certification preferred but not required.
  • Retail industry experience preferred multi-unit and multi-state.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, related financial reporting standards, including inventory, lease accounting, revenue recognition standards, financial statements and budgeting.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, monthly closure and reporting).
  • Demonstrated strong team leadership and development skills. The ability to manage, influence, inspire, build and develop teams with varied skills sets
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to present financial information in both verbal and written formats to all levels of management, Ownership and external constituents
  • Highly organized approach, superior work ethic, unquestioned integrity, a ‘no job too small’ mentality and a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Detail-oriented and “roll-up-your-sleeves” professional.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with superior attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Well-organized, inquisitive, confident, self-aware, decisive and creative.
  • Strong systems aptitude and proficiency, including expert Excel skills. Proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications is strongly preferred.
  • Great Plains experience is a plus.
