QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate should have some or all of the following experiences and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in accounting or a related field, MBA is a plus
  • Experience with project based accounting and finance
  • Experience developing the financial strategy for a company
  • ERP experience, experience with Acumatica is a plus
  • Experience working for a large and small company is a plus
  • CPA or desire to become a CPA preferred
  • Comfortable in a fast-growing company with competing priorities
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

The Director of Finance and Accounting will collaborate with the CEO and the executive team to make decisions regarding the company’s financial strategy and operations and will report to the CEO. This position will be responsible for accounting, which is currently completed by a third-party. Given that we are a fast-growing, young small business, all roles at UTG must be both strategic and hands on at times. We are seeking a candidate who can rapidly develop into higher levels as the company continues its growth path and desires to grow into a CFO role. This role will have broad authority to establish the organization, processes, and technology required to have a best-in-class Finance and Accounting function.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and present financial and tax strategy recommendations to CEO
  • Oversee accounting, currently in a third party capacity
  • Provide financial strategy, planning, and analysis
  • Oversee cash flow, cash management, working capital, and company audits
  • Prepare financial statements and reports
  • Ensure legal compliance on all financial functions
  • Manage relationships with banks
  • Provide financial forecasting and budget oversight
  • Provide after-project review/profitability analysis
  • Review of AR and AP aging, collections
  • Prepare and file state sales tax
  • Journal entries and adjustments as required
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Oversee bi-weekly payroll
  • A/R and A/P
