OTUS Nonprofit CFO is partnering with the Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS) to recruit a Director of Finance & Administration. Based in Ottawa, this senior leadership role reports to the Executive Director and oversees CPS’s finance, administration, HR, IT, and risk functions. The Director will lead budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting and controls, and support Healthy Generations—the CPS foundation—while mentoring a small finance team. On behalf of CPS, we’re seeking a CPA with progressive leadership experience, ideally in the not-for-profit sector. This is a full-time, permanent position (five days in office to start). We are seeking a highly skilled and mission-driven Director of Finance and Administration to join our senior leadership team and help execute the organization’s financial and operational strategy.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Finance and Administration will be responsible for ensuring the financial integrity and operational efficiency for CPS. This role will lead budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, risk management, and operational oversight, while collaborating closely with colleagues across the organization and reporting to the Executive Director.
The role also supports the financial management of Healthy Generations, a charitable foundation associated with the CPS.
HUMAN RESOURCES
· Provide guidance and operational support on human resource matters specifically related to development and maintenance of job descriptions, recruitment and retention, performance management and compensation.
· Work with management team to develop and implement human resource policies and procedures consistent with current legislation.
· Draft new policies and revise/update existing policies as required.
· Provide advice and guidance on disciplinary action and terminations.
· Draft employment contracts and letters of offer.
· Maintain personnel files for all employees.
· Lead compensation planning process.
· Manage and negotiate contracts for group benefits and pension program.
· Ensure the management of and reporting on time recording system.
· Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation.
