Description This position is located in Wilmington, Delaware. Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Wilmington is seeking a Director of Finance and Programs, a member of the executive team, who will be responsible for managing the programs of Catholic Charities to design, direct, develop, and coordinate, high quality services, delivered cost-effectively, with a particular emphasis on the needy, consistent with the mission and ministry of Catholic Charities. The schedule for this full-time position is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm and may require availability outside of normal business hours, as needed. Essential Functions: Promote an organizational culture based on the mission, and core values of Catholic Charities with a focus on the programs: Basic Needs, Residential Shelters, Behavioral Health, Low Income Housing Energy Assistance, Seton Center, Marydale Retirement Village. Work with the program management team to develop priorities and define goals for program operation. Supervise, evaluate, and review the work of the program management team and overall program operations. Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, coaching, training, and development for program management staff ensuring responsibilities and accountability are well-defined. Review processes for effectiveness, efficiency and quality, and identify improvement opportunities. Evaluate and direct overall personnel allocation based on programmatic needs. Evaluate all program contracts, contract renewals, and grant applications with program managers to assure feasibility, programmatic/fiscal impact, and alignment with Charities’ mission. Ensure compliance with high standards of ethical conduct, professional performance, and financial accountability as established by licensing, accrediting, accounting, and other professional bodies, and as consistent with Catholic Charities’ mission and core values. Upgrade and implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures. Plan, review and monitor budgets, funding requests, program plans, and monitor operating statements to ensure compliance with standard budget objectives. Conduct, review, and approve, annual program evaluations and statistical reports in conjunction with the program management team. Evaluate and approve all activities regarding personnel discipline, discharge, recruitment, and hiring, in conjunction with Human Resources. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, and ten years of experience in direct social service or non-profit administration with financial management and auditing experience; or equivalent combination of demonstrated experience and education. Adherence to the highest ethical standards, personally and professionally. Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office/365 applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately both verbally and in writing. Ability to safeguard access of confidential or sensitive information of data. Ability to build trust and rapport with individuals from diverse cultural, socio-economic, and ethnic backgrounds. Willingness to consent to a satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening in accordance with applicable laws. Ability to travel both within and outside the footprint of the Diocese as needed. Knowledge of state and federal social welfare policy and its development. Knowledge of and commitment to the principles of Catholic social teaching. Practicing Catholic able to witness to the sacramental life of the community.
