The Role
Working within a sophisticated global and highly matrixed environment, you will take overall accountability for the APAC finance function and act as a key commercial and strategic partner to regional leadership.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the finance function across APAC
- Take overall accountability for FP&A, accounting, statutory and regulatory reporting, audit, tax and financial controls.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and analysis of regional financial performance.
- Provide commercial insights and recommendations to APAC and global senior leadership.
- Participate as a member of the Asia-Pacific senior leadership team, providing regular financial reporting and insights to executive management.
- Partner closely with the APAC COO and other senior regional and global executives.
- Oversee statutory reporting across multiple jurisdictions in accordance with IFRS and applicable local GAAP requirements.
- Maintain a robust control environment and act as a senior point of contact for auditors, regulators and internal stakeholders.
- Support strategic initiatives and M&A activity, including financial modelling and evaluation of potential acquisitions and new business opportunities.
- Partner with global tax and treasury teams across regional tax strategy, cash management, funding and capital efficiency.
- Provide financial oversight and reporting relating to regulated investment structures and associated Boards/Trustees.
- Oversee client and product pricing decisions across APAC.
- Lead, develop and empower an experienced finance team
- Drive transformation, automation and continuous improvement across the regional finance function.
About You
This position requires a seasoned finance leader who can operate at both a strategic and operational level and is comfortable navigating a complex global organisation.You will ideally bring:
- Significant senior finance leadership experience within financial services.
- Asset or investment management experience is highly regarded.
- Strong APAC experience, ideally having worked within a regional finance function spanning multiple jurisdictions.
- CA or CPA qualification.
- Big 4 experience is highly preferred.
- Broad technical and commercial finance capability spanning FP&A, statutory reporting, accounting, audit, tax and regulatory reporting.
- Experience leading established, high-performing finance teams.
- Strong understanding of operating within a global matrix environment with multiple reporting lines and stakeholder groups.
- Experience partnering with C-suite executives and presenting financial performance and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Exposure to Boards, regulated investment structures or the superannuation/master trust environment would be highly regarded.
- Experience supporting M&A, acquisitions, financial modelling or other strategic initiatives.
- The ability to balance oversight with delegation, empowering experienced team members while maintaining accountability for regional outcomes.
- Strong commercial judgement, executive presence and the ability to build trusted relationships across multiple functions and geographies.
