Position Overview The Director of Finance serves as a strategic business partner and operational leader, responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting functions across a complex, multi-entity luxury resort and private club environment. This role requires exceptional multitasking capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage diverse revenue streams including hospitality, real estate, memberships, and recreational operations. The ideal candidate combines technical financial expertise with strong leadership skills to ensure financial integrity, optimize performance, and support long-term asset value across all divisions. This role operates within a dynamic luxury resort setting requiring the ability to manage competing priorities, seasonal fluctuations, and a broad portfolio of business lines. Flexibility and adaptability are essential. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Strategy Provide strategic financial guidance to executive leadership and ownership. Develop and execute long-term financial plans aligned with organizational goals. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling across all business units. Identify opportunities for cost optimization, revenue growth, and operational efficiency. Accounting & Reporting Oversight Direct all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Maintain compliance with GAAP and all regulatory requirements. Oversee audits, tax filings, and coordination with external auditors and advisors. Multi-Entity & Multi-Department Oversight Provide financial oversight and integration across: Hotel & Resort Operations Residential Rental Pool Programs Real Estate Sales & Development Private Club & Memberships Golf Operations Equestrian Programs Outdoor Pursuits & Adventure Activities Snow & Winter Recreation Operations Spa & Wellness Services Food & Beverage Operations Homeowners Association (HOA) Independent Service District (ISD) Additional resort-related ventures and entities Operational Finance & Controls Establish and enforce internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets. Partner with department heads to analyze performance metrics and drive accountability. Monitor cash flow, capital expenditures, and investment strategies. Ensure proper revenue recognition across varied business lines. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Coordinate cross-functional communication between finance and operational departments. Systems & Process Improvement Oversee financial systems, ERP platforms, and reporting tools. Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and data accuracy. Leverage technology to support real-time decision-making.
