Job Overview: The Director of Finance will be responsible for managing financial planning, analysis, and reporting, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing senior leadership with actionable insights for business decision-making. This role requires a strong background in financial management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive financial strategy to support the company’s growth and profitability. Key Responsibilities: Lead the Accounting Department, overseeing all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and risk management. Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company’s business goals, ensuring financial health and sustainable growth. Provide accurate and timely financial reports to senior management, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Direct the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, collaborating with various departments to ensure alignment with business objectives. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement, presenting findings and recommendations to management. Manage cash flow, investments, and capital structure to optimize financial performance and liquidity. Oversee financial modeling, long-term strategic planning, and scenario analysis to support major business decisions. Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS), and tax laws, keeping up with any changes. Manage the company’s risk management strategies, including insurance, tax planning, and internal controls. Establish and maintain robust financial controls to protect company assets and ensure data accuracy and integrity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and HR, to drive financial performance and inform key business decisions. Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, banks, auditors, and regulatory bodies. Evaluate and improve existing financial systems, processes, and software to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Any other job duties as assigned by supervisor Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics: Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS), tax regulations, and financial reporting. Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Expertise in cash flow management, risk management, and strategic financial decision-making. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, develop, and motivate a team of finance professionals. Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems is a plus. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively. Experience working with executive teams and presenting financial data to the board of directors. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA, CPA or CFA highly preferred). Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior management role OR a combination of education and experience.
