Job Description

Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnering

  • Drive a culture of financial accountability and data-driven decision-making across all departments.
  • Partner with the General Manager to optimize operating performance and maximize asset value for ownership.
  • Provide insights and challenge to operational strategies to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Lead and contribute to key hotel meetings, including revenue strategy sessions and capital planning.

Financial Leadership

  • Oversee the preparation and review of accurate financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses.
  • Monitor and interpret financial results, providing timely insights to management and ownership.
  • Ensure effective capital planning, fixed asset tracking, and return-on-investment analysis.
  • Develop and implement internal benchmarking and performance reporting tools.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Safeguard hotel assets and ensure full compliance with local regulations, Fairmont Raffles Hotels International (FRHI) policies, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Maintain and manage the Critical Date List for all legal contracts and obligations.
  • Lead risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to address operational vulnerabilities.

Internal Controls & Procedures

  • Ensure robust internal controls and segregation of duties are in place and followed.
  • Review and enforce accounting policies, expense guidelines, and cash handling procedures.
  • Act as the hotel’s primary liaison with auditors, tax authorities, and insurance providers.

People Leadership

  • Build and mentor a strong finance team focused on excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead succession planning, training, and performance management within the department.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and results-oriented work culture.
