OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead the financial operations and strategic financial planning across our Canadian and U.S. entities. This role combines oversight of operational finance with a strong focus on financial leadership, advisory, and cross-border financial strategy.
As a key member of the executive leadership team, you will not only ensure financial excellence but also act as a strategic partner in propelling the company to its next stage of growth. Through data-driven insights and forward-looking financial strategy, you will help strengthen the company’s financial position and unlock new opportunities. This is a permanent, full-time, in person role reporting to our CEO.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA designation or equivalent.
  • 8+ years in senior financial roles, ideally within tourism, hospitality, or related sectors.
  • Proven experience managing multi-currency operations (CAD & USD) and cross-border financial reporting.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, dashboards).
  • Experience with TRAMS or similar hospitality industry accounting software is a strong asset.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance operational oversight with strategic financial leadership.
  • Timely and accurate financial reporting, audits, and tax filings.
  • Effective management and forecasting of cash flow across multi-currency accounts.
  • Use of advanced Excel and financial modeling to enhance decision-making.
  • Streamlined finance processes with swift issue resolution.
  • High-performing, well-supported finance team with strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Meaningful contribution of financial insights to business strategy and growth planning.

Responsibilities

Cash & Treasury Management

  • Oversee daily cash flow management across CAD and USD accounts and maintain international banking relationships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with banking partners to optimize credit facilities, and cash management services.
  • Provide high-level approval and oversight of credit card funding, operational payments (EFT, wire, Interac, credit card).
  • Ensure daily bank and credit card reconciliations are completed, delegating to team members while maintaining accountability.

Operational Finance Oversight

  • Approve operational payments and support reconciliation, folio processing, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure finance processes are streamlined, efficient, and compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Payroll function by ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variance analysis, and performance metrics.
  • Deliver reports, dashboards, and weekly revenue updates to the CEO and leadership team.
  • Provide actionable financial insights that support business decision-making.

Strategic Planning & Forecasting

  • Collaborate with leadership on annual budgeting, long-range financial planning, and analysis.
  • Develop advanced forecasting models to anticipate cash flow needs and business performance.
  • Guide strategic initiatives with data-driven financial advice.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Delegate operational tasks to ensure focus on strategic priorities.
  • Manage year-end processes and coordinate external audits, ensuring timely and accurate tax filings and compliance reporting.
  • Demonstrate a continuous drive for personal learning and development to gain deep understanding of the Frontier finance system, enabling effective support and leadership in its application across all finance functions.

Client & Vendor Financial Oversight

  • Evaluate and approve credit applications for clients and suppliers.
  • Oversee financial onboarding processes for new hotel/property vendors, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Manage accounts receivable operations, including timely collections, payment application, and reconciliation. Train and guide team members on consistent, accurate client invoicing aligned with contractual terms.
