Position Summary: The Director of Finance serves as the senior financial leader of Green Bay Country Club and is responsible for the overall financial health and integrity of the Club. This position ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic decision-making. The Director of Finance is a trusted partner to the General Manager/COO, leadership team, and Board of Directors, providing timely analysis, financial insight, and recommendations to support operational excellence and long-term success. This role requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial planning, and cost control. Department: Administration Reports to: General Manager/ COO Supervises: Office Manager Employment Status: Full-Time, Exempt Key Responsibilities: Oversee all financial operations of the Club, including accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and cash management. Prepare and deliver timely financial reporting, including monthly financial statements, KPIs, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable laws and regulations. Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department leaders and monitor performance against budget. Provide financial insights and recommendations to the General Manager/COO, leadership team, and Board. Provide strategic oversight of payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proper controls; partner with the Director of Human Resources to maintain efficient and effective payroll systems and processes. Establish and maintain effective internal controls, policies, and procedures. Manage audits, tax filings, and relationships with external auditors and advisors. Oversee inventory controls and asset management, including capital tracking and depreciation schedules. Identify opportunities for cost control, process improvements, and system enhancements. Support department heads with financial planning and analysis. Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). 5–10 years of progressive finance/accounting leadership experience, preferably in hospitality or private club environment. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. Experience with payroll, audits, tax reporting, and financial systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial/accounting software (club systems preferred). Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Demonstrated leadership ability and high level of professionalism and integrity. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer, with occasional standing and walking throughout Club facilities. Requires clear vision for reviewing financial documents, spreadsheets, and computer screens, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Frequent communication with staff, leadership, and members in person, by phone, and via email. On site work is required to support Club operations and leadership needs, with flexibility available based on workload and activities.
