Description

Green Energy Trading Corporation (GET) is an agribusiness that produces renewable natural gas (RNG) using agriculture organic wastes through anaerobic digesters. GET constructs, operates, maintains and services anaerobic digesters and through its sustainable agriculture program, collects organic wastes from farms as feedstock for the sale of RNG in the market.
The Director of Finance is responsible for GET’s financial strategy, and the direction, oversight and management of finance and accounting, including leading the financial growth strategy, overseeing the budget process, general accounting, reporting, and billing and payment processes, managing compliance reporting and risk mitigation, creating financial models and forecasts, and providing leadership as a member of GET’s executive team.

The ideal candidate lives within 50km of Guelph, Ontario and is experienced in finance, has strong leadership skills, and comfortable working with a team. In addition, this candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in accounting or finance;
  • CPA Designation (or equivalent);
  • 7+ years in finance management;
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS or GAAP;
  • Proficient with financial software (ex. NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks);
  • Experience with project financing, capital planning, and infrastructure investment;
  • Ability to lead finance teams and support executive decision making;
  • Understanding of financial risk management;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong financial modelling and analysis capabilities;
  • Experience raising capital is an asset;
  • Experience in financial compliance and reporting related to carbon credits and renewable energy off-take agreements is an asset;
  • Agricultural industry knowledge is an asset; and
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
