Description The Director of Finance serves as a senior finance leader and trusted partner to the Chief Financial Officer, supporting enterprise-wide financial management, planning, analysis, and reporting across International Code Council. This role is responsible for translating strategy into financial execution, strengthening financial discipline, and providing high quality insights to executive leadership. The Director of Finance plays a critical role in budgeting, forecasting, financial performance management, and special projects, while also serving as a key liaison across departments to ensure financial alignment, accountability, and transparency. Essential Functions: Financial Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting Participate in the annual budgeting process and multi-year financial planning in close partnership with the CFO. Develop rolling forecasts, scenario analyses, and financial models to support strategic and operational decisions. Ensure alignment between strategic objectives, operating plans, and financial outcomes. Financial Analysis and Decision Support Provide timely, actionable financial analysis and insights to the CFO, executive leadership, and department leaders. Analyze variances, trends, and key drivers of performance across revenue, expenses, and margins. Support business cases for new initiatives, investments, pricing, and organizational changes. Management Reporting and Financial Performance Management Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting packages, dashboards, and presentations. Support Board, Audit, Investment, Budget Committees, and leadership reporting with clear, accurate, and well structured financial dashboards and narratives. Establish and refine KPIs and performance metrics aligned with organizational priorities. Accounting Partnership and Controls Partner closely with Accounting to ensure accurate, timely financial close and reporting. Support internal controls, financial policies, and audit readiness in coordination with the CFO and Controller. Assist with implementation and optimization of financial systems, processes, and reporting tools. Cross Functional Collaboration Serve as a finance business partner to department leaders, helping them understand financial performance and make informed decisions. Collaborate with HR on workforce planning, compensation analysis, and employment cost management. Work with IT, Operations, and Product teams on system implementations, data quality, and analytics. Special Projects and Strategic Initiatives Lead or support enterprise wide initiatives such as system implementations, organizational changes, acquisitions, and integration efforts. Conduct ad hoc analyses and prepare executive level materials as requested by the CFO. Performs other related duties as assigned Requirements Essential Skills and Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, or corporate finance roles. Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and management reporting. Experience in complex, multi entity organizations preferred. Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leaders and influence decision making. Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools strongly preferred.
