Reporting directly to the company’s CPO/COO and collaborating closely with the executive team - including CEO and CTO - this role ensures financial agility, optimized cash flow, and informed decision-making as the company supports client scaling and internal innovation. This is a unique opportunity to build and strengthen the financial foundation of a lean, dynamic organization of ~70 employees, with multi-million-dollar revenue and a global footprint, while helping guide a proven innovator in the international tech space. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies that align with the company's growth targets, including forecasting for scaling initiatives, AI operationalization, and support for client B/C-round and PE-backed expansions. Lead the annual budgeting process, long-term financial forecasting, cash flow management, and financial modeling for product roadmaps, project delivery cycles, MVP launches, and legacy modernizations. Oversee timely and accurate financial reporting, preparation of statements, management dashboards, and analyses for the executive team, board, and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and best practices (including those applicable to NAICS 541511 custom software development). Establish and maintain robust internal controls, risk management processes, and cost discipline in a distributed, global engineering model. Monitor and optimize revenue streams from deep client partnerships in healthcare, finance, and real estate verticals; analyze project profitability, resource allocation, and key metrics. Provide strategic financial insights and guidance to non-finance leaders (product, design, engineering) to support agile decision-making, selective project intake, and high-quality commitments. Manage liquidity, evaluate investment opportunities (including capital expenditures and tech investments), and drive ROI analysis for AI/UX initiatives and engineering resources. Lead, mentor, and develop the finance function, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement in a collaborative, engineer-centric environment. Participate in management meetings, present financial updates, and contribute to high-level strategic planning. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA, CPA, or advanced degree strongly preferred. 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including a minimum of 4 years in a leadership role, with mandatory experience in US finance and regulatory frameworks Proven track record in high-growth technology, software development, SaaS, or client-services environments (ideally scaling businesses with $1M+ revenue). Strong expertise in budgeting, cash flow management, financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting in fast-paced, project-based settings. Experience supporting high-growth environments (B/C-round or PE-backed companies) and scaling software businesses is highly desirable. Familiarity with software/tech industry dynamics, client project profitability analysis, and/or gaming/mobile app monetization principles is a plus. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for technical and non-financial stakeholders. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable presenting to executives, board members, and cross-functional teams. Proficiency in financial management software, advanced Excel, and tools supporting agile reporting and analysis.
