Description

Our long-standing client in the import/expoert business is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Director of Finance or Controller to oversee its financial operations. Based in the Plateau, the Director of Finance will play a pivotal role in consolidating financial statements, managing foreign exchange exposure, and ensuring accurate and efficient use of accounting systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the consolidation of financial statements across multiple entities or jurisdictions.
  • Manage and monitor foreign currency transactions, including hedging and conversion strategies.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing.
  • Implement and maintain robust accounting controls, standards, and procedures.
  • Evaluate and optimize accounting software and systems to meet evolving business needs.
  • Provide financial reporting and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decisions.
  • Liaise with auditors, banks, and external consultants as required.
  • Supervise and mentor finance staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • CPA designation
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership roles.
  • Proficiency in Excel (including advanced functions such as pivot tables, lookups, and macros).
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting systems and software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Bilingual (English and French) considered an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Titre comptable (CPA) un atout important.
  • Minimum de 7 ans d’expérience en finance et comptabilité, dont une partie à un poste de gestion.
  • Expérience démontrée en gestion de devises étrangères et en consolidation multi-entités.
  • Maîtrise avancée d’Excel (tableaux croisés dynamiques, formules complexes, macros, etc.).
  • Solide connaissance des logiciels et systèmes comptables (QuickBooks, Sage, SAP ou autres).
  • Excellentes compétences analytiques, organisationnelles et interpersonnelles.
  • Bilinguisme (français et anglais) est un atout majeur.
