POSITION OVERVIEW:

At The Wildbirch Hotel, our Director of Finance/Senior Financial Controller is a high-level finance professional, part of the Executive Commitee, responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and advising on financial strategy within an organization. He/She manages the finance team, implement financial controls, and work closely with other departments to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, and a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA).
  • Experience: Extensive experience in financial accounting, reporting, and analysis.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and industry best practices

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, board reports and various other financial reports.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support management decisions.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:
  • Develop and manage the budget, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Create financial forecasts and analyze variances.
  • Monitor performance against budget and provide regular updates.
  • Accounting Operations:
  • Oversee all accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure the security of company assets.
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate financial risks.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
  • Supervise and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support.
  • Evaluate performance and provide feedback.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
