Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on Director of Finance to lead the finance function of our growing organization. Reporting directly to the President, the Director of Finance will oversee the finance and administration team and provide financial leadership to the senior leadership group. This role is responsible for strengthening financial reporting, forecasting, and operational financial management across the company. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership to support informed decision-making and ensure strong financial discipline across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Financial Leadership Lead the finance and accounting team, including the Controller and accounting staff Provide financial insight and analysis to the President and senior leadership team. Develop financial processes, reporting cadence, and performance metrics to support business decisions. Recruit, mentor, and develop members of the finance and accounting team. Financial Reporting & Controls Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with Canadian GAAP and regulatory requirements. Improve the timeliness, accuracy, and discipline of financial reporting and internal controls. Operational Finance & Job Costing Ensure discipline and accuracy around project job costing and financial tracking. Work closely with operations and project management teams to monitor project profitability. Develop reporting tools that provide visibility into project financial performance. Financial Planning & Forecasting Develop and manage annual budgeting and forecasting processes. Monitor and forecast cash flow to support operational needs. Provide financial modelling and analysis to support strategic planning. Systems & Process Improvement Evaluate and improve financial systems and reporting processes. Implement tools and dashboards that improve financial visibility across the organization. Risk Management & Compliance Ensure appropriate financial controls and risk mitigation strategies are in place. Oversee taxation compliance and support financial planning initiatives. Qualifications CPA designation preferred 8–12+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management Experience in construction, project-based, or contract-based industries strongly preferred Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP and financial reporting Experience with job costing and project financial management Experience with accounting systems such as Jonas, Sage, Dynamics, or similar Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive organizational success through effective leadership Why Join TRUE?
