The Director of Food & Beverage plays a pivotal role in overseeing all front-of-house operations, including dining outlets, banquet service, and locker room staff. This role ensures exceptional service standards, staff training, and a consistently high level of member and guest satisfaction. Working closely with the Clubhouse Manager and Executive Chef, the Director coordinates daily operations and club events while fostering a positive, service-oriented culture. As a visible leader within the clubhouse, this individual supports the Club’s strategic goals and plays a key role in delivering a refined and welcoming hospitality experience.
This is a full-time, exempt leadership position reporting directly to the Assistant General Manager. The Director of Food & Beverage will oversee all front-of-house operations, including the Banquet staff, Locker Room attendants, and the following department managers: Clubhouse Dining Manager, Ranch House/Pool Manager, and Ladies’ and Men’s Locker Room Managers.

QUALIFICATIONS TO JOIN OUR TEAM:

  • High school diploma required; college degree in Hospitality or related field preferred
  • Current Maricopa County Food Handler’s Card and state-certified liquor training required
  • Minimum 5 years of F&B leadership experience in a private club or upscale hospitality setting
  • Proven ability to plan and execute member events, including weddings and private functions
  • Strong knowledge of service standards, event operations, and staff supervision
  • Familiarity with budgeting, inventory, and A/P-A/R processes
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and club management systems (e.g., Jonas or similar)
Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight to all FOH food and beverage operations, including dining rooms, banquet service staff, and locker room attendants.
  • Train, schedule, and manage all FOH personnel to ensure consistent, high-quality service across all outlets and events.
  • Foster a service-focused culture through continuous coaching, clear expectations, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure smooth coordination between service, culinary, and facilities teams for daily operations and special events.
  • Conduct regular service team meetings and ensure consistent communication of club policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Work closely with the Clubhouse Manager to plan and execute all club-sponsored events, holiday functions, and seasonal activities.
  • Ensure readiness and service excellence for all member functions, including private dining, social gatherings, and club events.
  • Supervise locker room staff and ensure their service and facility standards align with overall member experience expectations.
  • Manage staff scheduling to meet labor targets while maintaining optimal service coverage, including Manager on Duty (MOD) rotations.
  • Monitor member satisfaction, respond to service issues or complaints, and follow up with necessary actions to ensure resolution.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining front-of-house SOPs to support consistent and efficient service delivery.
  • Oversee inventory control, ordering of service-related supplies, and upkeep of all FOH and locker room service equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records including employee files, training logs, incident reports, and member feedback.
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes for food & beverage operations; monitor labor and operational costs.
  • Provide input on staffing levels, service equipment needs, and long-term planning to support strategic goals of the club.
  • Support the development of wine, beverage, and service training programs in collaboration with bar and dining management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant General Manager.
