Food Service Director Job Description:
The Food Service Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food service management within our C-stores. This includes the management of information technology systems related to food services, ensuring that we leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
A key responsibility of this role will be to ensure that store managers, food managers, and kitchen staff receive comprehensive training in our policies and procedures. This training will include guidelines for health inspections and adherence to food safety standards, as well as the proper preparation of recipes that exemplify our brand’s commitment to quality.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of food service operations, and the ability to effectively communicate and train staff at all levels. They should be approachable, respectful, and consistent in their interactions with staff and customers alike.
Responsibilities of the Director of Food Service:
1. Menu Development: Design and update the food service menu to align with customer preferences and industry trends, ensuring a diverse and appealing selection.
2. Food Safety and Compliance: Oversee food safety protocols and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including health inspections and food handling standards.
3. Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of food and supplies, including ordering, receiving, and tracking to minimize waste and optimize cost efficiency.
4. Staff Training and Development: Recruit, train, and supervise food service staff, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement in customer service and food preparation.
5. Cost Control: Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and overall budget adherence to maximize profitability while maintaining quality service.
6. Customer Experience: Develop strategies to enhance the customer experience, including feedback collection and implementation of improvements based on customer insights.
7. Marketing and Promotions: Collaborate with the team to create and execute promotional campaigns that drive food service sales and increase customer engagement.
8. Vendor Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with food suppliers and vendors to ensure quality products and favorable terms.
9. Sales Analysis: Analyze sales data to identify trends, assess performance, and make informed decisions regarding menu offerings and operational adjustments.
10. Operational Efficiency: Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to improve the efficiency of food service operations.
