Position: Global Director of Business Travel Sales
Position Summary:
This candidate is a highly motivated and results-oriented Business Travel Sales Leader with a proven ability to develop and solicit new business opportunities while cultivating strong relationships with key clients in the business travel segment. This includes partnerships with corporate travel managers, business transient programs, and other luxury business segments. This may include partnerships with Luxury Programs, Luxury Travel Agencies, Entertainment segments, and other high-value industry stakeholders.
As the Global Director of Business Travel Sales, you will represent our brand at the highest level, cultivating relationships with top-tier clients and identifying new opportunities for revenue. You will work in an environment that requires agility, using data-driven insights to adjust strategies quickly and maintain a focus on growth in a evolving market. The role requires an independent self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, to formulate a plan to drive performance.

The ideal candidate is an accomplished sales professional with a stellar track record and reputation in the upscale/luxury hotel sector. They bring a proactive, 100% sales-focused approach to uncover new business opportunities, leveraging both established industry relationships and strategic selling techniques. Additionally, they will nurture existing ALHI customer relationships while consistently identifying growth opportunities.
With a deep understanding of luxury travel trends and a well-established network in the industry, the candidate will thrive in a start-up environment, demonstrating adaptability, entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for driving results in an evolving market. The candidate will also play a critical role in developing the Luxury and Leisure sales programing for member hotels while engaging in daily sales activities.
This role is remote and reports directly to the Senior Vice President – Luxury Leisure Sales.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute a sales plan targeting the business travel market to maximize revenue across all hotel brands.
  • Lead the formulation of innovative programs and services that deliver value to members, enhancing their experience and satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with high-end travel agencies, Consortia partners, business travel programs and other partners to drive bookings and brand awareness.
  • Develop accounts (new and existing) by mapping specific business and buying tendencies.
  • Create and execute an annual sales plan specific to market assignment
  • Partnerships and Events: Represent the company at luxury travel trade shows, events, and client presentations to strengthen relationships and generate leads.
  • Maintain product knowledge of ALHI member properties by obtaining all member updates and collateral, as well as traveling and conducting site visits as directed by the SVP – Luxury Leisure Sales.
  • Provide innovative solutions and think outside of the box. Willing to take risks while maintaining the financial goals and objectives of our members and ALHI.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong proactive relationships with our member hotels as an extension of their sales team.
  • Work to further the reputation and image of ALHI in the market.
  • Proactively correspond with clients regarding potential business and future opportunities.
  • Set and attend regular sales calls for members.
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of assigned regional sales/marketing events with a strategic approach to sales.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends by reading industry papers and travel related articles and attending industry events.
  • Abide by the policies and procedures of ALHI.
  • Maintain ethical and professional standards of sales service.
  • Work as a collaborative and supportive team member to those in the organization and region.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the SVP – Luxury & Leisure Sales not limited to the above.

Required Skills/Abilities and Experience:

  • At least 8+ years of proven track record of success in luxury hotel sales with strong network of contacts within the luxury travel and leisure market.
  • Previous experience in a global sales role preferred.
  • Experience in membership development, hospitality sales, or a related field
  • Passion for the hospitality industry and a deep understanding and knowledge of global luxury travel trends and market dynamics.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building and growing brands with a keen understanding of implementing standards, procedures to exceed established metrics and goals.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and brands effectively.
  • Experience in using sales and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, etc.) is a plus.
  • Travel for client meetings and industry events as required (10-35%).

    Salary at ALHI is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $140,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of ALHI’s total compensation package for employees.
