Xavier University, a Jesuit Catholic institution rooted in academic excellence and a commitment to social justice, invites applications for the position of Director of Graduate Admissions & Recruitment. The role is responsible for managing admissions and recruitment processes for assigned programs and for supervising any Assistant Directors within their purview. In partnership with SEM leadership, college deans, and program chairs/directors (or their designees), this role establishes enrollment goals, designs admissions workflows, and implements recruitment strategies that strengthen the University’s financial health.
Key responsibilities include coordinating and attending on- and off-campus recruitment events, managing the prospect and applicant pipeline, and performing admissions processing duties. The Director also collaborates on the development of recruitment materials (including web and print content, promotional items, and event displays) and represents assigned programs in a variety of meetings (SEM, college, department, marketing, alumni relations, etc.), advocating for program needs and supporting the broader goals of the Graduate School and Strategic Enrollment Management.
To succeed in this role, the Director must work independently, proactively identify opportunities for growth, and serve as a resourceful problem solver with exceptional communication skills and strong attention to detail. The ability to multitask, manage complex schedules, and adapt to evolving deadlines is essential.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of five years of progressive responsibility in higher education, including admissions experience with a US medical school.
  • Experience with Slate CRM preferred

  • Comprehensive knowledge of student recruitment and admissions policies and procedures in higher education.
  • Strong project management and team-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a Jesuit, mission-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with student privacy regulations and compliance standards.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, approachable leadership style, and alignment with the University’s strategic priorities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with program leadership to provide vision, direction, and oversight for admissions and recruitment efforts, ensuring alignment with the mission and goals of Xavier University.
  • Develop and execute a strategic recruitment plan, cultivating pipeline relationships to attract and enroll qualified applicants.
  • Partner with the MarComm team to ensure accurate and compelling representation of assigned programs in recruitment and marketing outreach.
  • Coordinate with MarComm to establish and maintain an applicant-centered communication system that effectively engages prospective and newly admitted students.
  • Assist with managing the admissions budget in compliance with institutional policies.
  • Ensure adherence to admissions standards and policies for assigned programs.
  • Oversee the application process (i.e. screening, interviewing, and admissions) while collaborating with faculty, administrators, and staff to advance Xavier’s mission of providing an excellent Jesuit education.
  • Implement and coordinate additional application procedures as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous planning and quality improvement efforts to refine recruitment and admissions processes, establish measurable outcomes, and achieve both short- and long-term goals.
