Director of Growth The Color Bar Hair Salon Position Overview The Director of Growth is responsible for driving revenue, retention, and performance across all Color Bar locations. This role is focused on outcomes—building systems, developing people, and executing strategies that elevate the guest experience while increasing profitability. This leader owns growth at every level: guest acquisition, retention, retail performance, pre-booking culture, operational efficiency, and talent development. Reporting Structure Reports directly to the CEO Works in partnership with the Director of Operations This role ensures alignment between growth strategy and operational execution—turning vision into consistent results across every location. What Success Looks Like Consistent revenue growth across all locations New guest retention ≥ 35% and existing retention ≥ 85% Retail performance at 20%+ of service sales Pre-booking culture at 70%+ Locations operating within target expense benchmarks A strong culture of accountability, growth, and positivity A consistent pipeline of developing stylists and future leaders Key Responsibilities Revenue & Growth Leadership Drive total company sales through strategic initiatives Identify opportunities to increase average ticket, frequency, and lifetime value Partner with marketing and the reservation center to increase bookings and conversions Guest Experience & Retention Implement systems that improve guest satisfaction and loyalty Ensure consistent execution of consultation, service standards, and follow-through Monitor and improve retention metrics across all locations Retail & Productivity Performance Lead retail growth initiatives to achieve and sustain 20%+ performance Strengthen pre-booking habits through training, coaching, and accountability Support stylists in building confidence with recommendations and guest education Operational & Financial Discipline Monitor location-level performance (labor, COGS, operational expenses) Partner with the Director of Operations to maintain profitability targets Use data to identify gaps and implement corrective action plans Culture & Team Development Protect and elevate The Color Bar culture rooted in growth, inclusivity, and guest satisfaction Reinforce a positive, professional, and high-performance environment Lead by example in communication, energy, and accountability Recognize wins, celebrate progress, and address concerns with clarity and ownership Ensure alignment across all locations in standards, expectations, and experience Interning & Stylist Development Pipeline Build and maintain a strong pipeline of future stylists and leaders Oversee and support assistant and intern development programs Partner with cosmetology schools and community programs to attract emerging talent Ensure clear growth paths from assistant → stylist → leadership Support education initiatives, including in-salon training and required annual development hours Track progression, performance, and readiness for promotion Team Accountability Systems Coach and develop Leads and leadership team members Create clear expectations, scorecards, and follow-up systems Drive a culture of ownership where performance is visible and measurable Systems & Reporting Utilize Zenoti dashboards and KPI scorecards to track performance Lead weekly and monthly performance reviews Ensure visibility across all locations for key metrics and progress Leadership Expectations This role requires a leader who: Speaks in outcomes, not tasks Builds systems that scale—not temporary fixes Protects culture while driving performance Develops people, not just numbers Leads with clarity, confidence, and consistency Takes ownership of both wins and opportunities Compensation Structure Base: 2.0% of total company revenue Bonus: Up to 2.0% per location based on performance metrics Earning Potential: Scales directly with company growth This role is designed to reward leadership that drives measurable results across all locations.
