The Penobscot Bay YMCA is seeking a dynamic, people-centered leader to guide and grow our Health & Wellness programs across our Rockport and Rockland branches. What You’ll Do • Lead and expand health & wellness programs for all ages and abilities • Supervise, support, and inspire instructors, trainers, and volunteers • Lead from the floor by teaching group fitness classes and/or providing personal training as needed to support programming and member engagement • Ensure safe, welcoming, and well-maintained wellness spaces and equipment • Oversee scheduling, payroll, budgeting, and program registration (Daxko) • Monitor participation and adjust programming based on member feedback and community needs • Serve as a key point of contact for the Rockland Harbor branch • Support YMCA events and community engagement initiatives • Collaborate across departments to deliver a positive, mission-driven experience Why Join the Pen-Bay Y? • Competitive benefits package including PTO, paid holidays (12), and health, dental, and vision insurance • Retirement program with 10% YMCA contribution after two years • Free family YMCA membership • The opportunity to lead programs that directly impact the health and well-being of our community Requirements What We’re Looking For • Passion for health, wellness, and community impact • Strong leadership and people-management skills • Experience managing teams, programs, or operations • Organizational and administrative confidence • Ability to respond calmly and effectively in dynamic situations • Commitment to the YMCA mission and inclusive values A bachelor’s degree in a health-related field OR equivalent experience is preferred. A willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, and relevant fitness certifications within a reasonable timeframe is required. Training & support are provided. Work Environment This role includes active participation in wellness spaces and may require standing, walking, lifting, and demonstrating exercises.
