JOB SUMMARY

As a key member of the OKIB senior management team, the Director of Health Services provides leadership and strategic direction to planning, organizing, implementing, maintaining and evaluating culturally relevant and safe health and wellness programs and services. This role is also responsible for initiatives related to accreditation, quality improvement, patient safety, cultural integration, funding, research initiatives, information governance, and digital transformation.

EDUCATION

  • A university degree in Health Sciences, Human Services, Public Health or a related field is required
  • A master’s degree in public health or a related field is considered an asset
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of five years in healthcare leadership roles, preferably in Indigenous health and within First Nations communities
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, program development, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO QUALIFIED ABORIGINAL APPLICANTS AS PER SECTION 41 OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS CODE.
