DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Location: Remote supporting North Carolina and Virginia Eastern Time Zone highly preferred
Compensation: $75,000 $100,000 (based on experience)

ABOUT CONNECT N CARE

Connect N Care is a growing ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) company dedicated to delivering high-quality services to children and families across North Carolina. With a strong focus on providing a supportive environment for our staff and exceptional care for the families we serve, we are seeking an experienced HR leader to build, scale, and oversee our human resources function while remaining hands-on with day-to-day responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated success building or scaling HR functions in a small to mid-sized organization
  • Hands-on experience in compliance, employee relations, and recruiting
  • Strong knowledge of federal and North Carolina employment laws
  • SPHR/PHR certification strongly preferred
  • Experience within the ABA, behavioral health, or healthcare field is highly preferred
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute HR strategies that align with company growth and mission
  • Oversee all aspects of HR operations including recruiting, employee relations, benefits, and compliance
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws, as well as industry-specific requirements (HIPAA, healthcare/ABA regulations)
  • Partner with leadership to design organizational structure, workforce planning, and performance management processes
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee relations, performance, and retention strategies
  • Build and maintain HR policies, employee handbook, and systems to support scalability
  • Lead culture and engagement initiatives to promote retention and employee satisfaction
  • Manage and mentor a junior HR team member
