Description

Our client, located 20 minutes southeast of Winnipeg, has partnered with Stacey Danley at Aplin in the search for the newly created role of Director of Human Resources. Our client is a rapidly growing organization with over 50 years of experience providing exceptional customer service.
Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Human Resources will lead a small team and be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that are aligned with the overall business strategy. They will plan, direct, manage, and coordinate all HR functions of the business.
Please note this is a full-time permanent role. A hybrid arrangement of three days a week in the office may be considered.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or certificate in Human Resources Management.
  • 10+ years of Human Resources experience, including supervising a team.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with an ability to develop strategic plans alongside the executive team.
  • Strong, proven project and process management skills with sound business judgment.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Exceptional judgment and initiative to act.
  • Demonstrated outstanding customer service, relationship building, and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • CPHR designation is an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Developing and monitoring overall HR strategies, systems, and policies and procedures across the company.
  • Developing an inclusive, positive, and engaging working environment that develops, retains, and attracts top talent.
  • In partnership with the executive team, acting as a change leader across the company.
  • Providing strategic advice and coaching to managers and employees.
  • Managing the recruitment and selection process.
  • Managing and overseeing new employee orientations and onboarding programs and practices.
  • Managing the administration of the employee benefit and pension programs.
  • Assisting the CFO and Executive Management team with compensation practices such as Merit Increases, Bonus Structures and Scoring, Commission Sales, and COLAs.
  • Guiding and supporting people managers in the areas of succession planning, performance reviews, performance management, and employee accommodations.
  • Assisting the CFO with various payroll practices, time and attendance, and WCB claims.
  • Managing the HR Software System
  • Staying current with HR legislation and serving as a knowledge resource of expertise for the entire company.
  • Ensuring legal compliance throughout Human Resource Management and acting as a liaison with legal support.
  • Providing support to the health and safety team.
  • Other duties will be assigned when required and based on business requirements.
