We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Human Resources located in Fond du Lac, WI.

WHAT YOU NEED TO QUALIFY:

Ahern will help make the most of your Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or HR certifications such as SHRM-SCP/SPHR preferred). 10+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources. Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, compensation/benefits, and HRIS systems (SAP SuccessFactors experience preferred). Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills. Proven ability to balance strategy with operational execution in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for a collaborative leader with integrity, sound judgment, and a passion for people. Prior experience dealing with all levels of an organization including executives. Demonstrated experience leading an HR team comprised of managers, business partners, recruiters, learning and development as well as benefits and HRIS systems specialists.
Please Note: This position is required to work in Fond du Lac, WI at Ahern’s main campus daily. Remote work is not available.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with senior leadership to design and execute HR strategies that support growth, operational excellence, and culture.
  • Lead initiatives to build a high-performance, engaged workforce through effective employee relations, performance management, and leadership development.
  • Oversee talent acquisition, workforce planning, and succession planning to ensure we attract and retain top talent.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and maintain clear HR policies.
  • Drive learning and development programs to enhance skills and leadership potential.
  • Manage competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain top performers.
  • Use HR data and analytics to measure effectiveness, identify trends, and support decision-making.
  • Mentor and lead an experienced HR team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
