About The Role We are seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to serve as the strategic HR leader for our growing firm. Reporting to firm leadership, this role will own the full people function — talent acquisition, culture, employee experience, benefits, compliance, employee relations, policy, training, compensation, and HR operations across multiple countries. You will lead and develop the HR team, partner with department leaders, advise executive leadership, and personally own the most sensitive employee matters. You’ll be the architect of our employee handbook, HR policies, operating cadence, and core training programs. Key Responsibilities Serve as strategic HR advisor to firm leadership; participate in leadership meetings and support compliant employment decisions across a multi-country workforce. Lead, develop, and mentor the HR team; establish clear responsibilities, escalation paths, and service standards. Lead and oversee the firm’s recruiting function, including management of the recruiting team, workforce planning, hiring processes, recruiting performance metrics, employer branding, and talent acquisition strategy to support continued growth. Establish and monitor recruiting KPIs including time-to-fill, quality-of-hire, candidate experience, source effectiveness, and hiring manager satisfaction. Partner with department leaders on workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, and executive-level hiring initiatives. Advise on escalated employee relations matters, performance concerns, and sensitive workplace situations; coach leaders through corrective action, PIPs, and separations. Drive the firm’s culture strategy, building programs that strengthen connection across in-house and remote teams and support engagement and retention. Design and continuously improve firm-wide training and development programs, including onboarding, compliance, leadership development, and management training. Oversee benefits programs, open enrollment, compensation philosophy, and total rewards strategy across multiple countries. Lead monthly salary reviews and oversee bonus plans, salary administration, and historical data reporting. Own the company handbook, HR policies, and employee-facing documentation; identify risk areas and recommend scalable improvements. Create internal communication standards including newsletters, bulletins, and video channels. Analyze workforce productivity metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, retention, and hiring trends to identify opportunities and drive data-informed decisions. Ensure HR systems, processes, and reporting capabilities scale effectively with the firm’s continued growth. Qualifications 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including leadership responsibility for multiple HR functions. HR certifications (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or equivalent). Experience leading HR for a workforce with both in-house and remote team members, ideally across multiple locations or countries. Demonstrated experience managing multi-state employment compliance, including wage and hour laws, leave requirements, employee classifications, and employment practices across multiple jurisdictions. Proven experience leading talent acquisition teams, recruiting operations, and high-volume hiring across multiple departments. Strong background in employee relations, performance management, and handling sensitive matters with discretion. Proven experience building or improving HR infrastructure, including policies, handbooks, operating models, HR systems, payroll platforms, and organizational structures. Proven experience designing and implementing training and development programs at an organizational level. Experience overseeing compensation, benefits, total rewards, and salary administration. Strong strategic thinking, initiative, and decision-making capabilities. Proven ability to drive employee engagement and foster a culture of accountability, performance, and belonging. Excellent judgment, emotional intelligence, communication skills, and discretion. Experience leading and developing HR team members and managers. Nice-To-Have Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will be considered. HR experience within a law firm or professional services firm. Experience building culture for hybrid or remote workforces. Experience with e-learning content, LMS implementation, or video-based training. Experience scaling HR during rapid company growth. Experience supporting international workforces, including Latin America and/or the Philippines. Experience with BambooHR and Gusto. Fluency in Spanish.
