WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO DO THIS JOB:

• A bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Ability to travel between operating locations monthly.
• A high level of confidentiality and detail orientation.
• Ability to establish and carry out a timeline of tasks to accomplish an intended outcome and timeline.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Proven track record with strategy planning, development, and execution.
• Team player.

• Ability to use and understand technology including a computer, smart phone, tablet and various software programs and apps.

• HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR, preferred.
• This position generally works in an office environment but is occasionally exposed to outdoor conditions or other locations. Long periods of sitting, standing and computer work are required. The ability to speak, hear, and type is also required. You will regularly lift 20 pounds or less.

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading the Human Resources Function (employee life cycle) for the company and works collaboratively with the General Manager and other members of the senior leadership team to execute strategic HR initiatives. This position can be located in Ulysses, KS, Cunningham, KS or Bushland, TX. Some of the many duties of this position include:

• Executing on strategic business objectives related to the people plan for the organization
• Overseeing the accurate and timely processing of payrolls for all Skyland companies
• Lead talent management, talent acquisition and workforce planning efforts
• Administration of all benefit plans and coordination of all benefit offerings to include education and enrollment
• Deep understanding of federal and state employment laws and champions employee relations
• Oversee leave management programs and policies in accordance with applicable state and federal laws
• Lead workers’ compensation claims reporting and tracking
• Oversee employee on-boarding and orientation processes
• Lead a team consisting of the HR/Benefits Administrator and HR Specialist positions
• Work closely with the Finance team on labor and benefit expense budgeting and reconciliations
• Provide counsel to both managers and employees on performance related issues as well as provide guidance on company policies and procedures
