Description

The Director of Human Resources, reporting to the Executive Director and part of the Senior Leadership team (SLT), oversees the HR and Scheduling teams at Tabor Village. They ensure HR policies, procedures, and programs are consistently applied in line with organizational goals, standards, and legal requirements. The role involves advocating for fair employee interactions, managing all HR initiatives—including recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, and labor relations—and overseeing HR staff, operations, planning, and budgeting.
The DOHR is a Tabor Culture champion and leads the organization by Engaging with our staff and other Tabor stakeholders, creating positive Experiences for them and empowering them to deliver on the mission and vision of Tabor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training and Experience
· Baccalaureate degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
· CPHR or other HR designation.
· 5 to 7 years of Human Resources experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role in a unionized environment.
· Experience working for a non-profit organization preferred.
Skills and Abilities
· Demonstrated ability to meet strategic HR and organizational objectives.
· Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and deliver on projects
· Ability to interpret and implement relevant HR legislation and Union collective agreements with a high level of critical and logical thinking.
· Excellent time management and proven project management skills.
· An effective negotiator with strong conflict resolution and team building skills.
· Effective oral, written and verbal communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
· Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, HRIS).
· Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
· Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.
· Legally entitled to work in Canada.
· Ability to provide a clear Criminal Record Check.
