Contract: Permanent, full-time, term time only (39 working weeks per year).
Start date: ASAP

Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Senior Vice Principal and the Pastoral team in shaping and managing the student experience at the Academy.
  • Leading and coordinating support for students who are difficult to reach and disengaged from education, ensuring specific targeted interventions are implemented to re-engage.
  • Leading the identification of student learning needs, providing insights to SENDCo, curriculum leads, and teachers to enhance learning outcomes while ensuring inclusion strategies align with the academy’s vision and policies
  • Establishing productive working relationships with students acting as a trusted member of staff and role model.
  • Building strong, collaborative relationships with parents and carers, sharing information to help students make meaningful progress.
  • Working closely with the wider Pastoral team to engage students across year groups and break any cycles of repeated negative behaviour.
  • Taking the lead in improving attendance for a specific group of students, ensuring they are actively engaged in the academy and all it has to offer.
  • Overseeing, monitoring and quality assuring processes and decisions around alternative and bespoke provision for individual students, including reviewing its impact. To include liaising directly with alternative providers and considering benefits versus cost.
  • Supporting the wider safeguarding team by acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL).
