Crane Engineering is a family-oriented Midwest and East coast based company, with locations in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. As a result of our growth, we have a need for a Director of Information Technology.
We are seeking a hands-on Director of Information Technology with a proven track record in managing Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) IT integration while balancing multiple complex projects. This role requires a strategic leader with strong technical expertise, a teaching mindset, and the ability to guide technical teams through rapid changes and growth.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & M&A Integration

  • Lead IT strategy and execution for M&A technology integration, ensuring smooth transitions of applications, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Manage IT due diligence, risk assessment, and post-merger technology consolidation efforts.
  • Align IT initiatives with business objectives to maximize operational efficiency.

Technical Oversight & System Integrations

  • Oversee multi-tenant M365 management and consolidation, ensuring security and efficiency.
  • Administer SQL databases, ensuring performance optimization and security best practices.
  • Support Infor SX and Sage 300 ERP systems, ensuring data accuracy and business process alignment.
  • Provide basic Power BI support, enabling data visualization and reporting improvements.
  • Manage Azure cloud infrastructure, optimizing cost and performance.
  • Ensure smooth integration of disparate applications, facilitating seamless business operations.

Hands-On IT Operations & Project Management

  • Oversee IT co-location management, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery preparedness.
  • Manage vendor contracts, negotiating terms to align with business needs and budget.
  • Lead and execute multiple concurrent projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with company goals.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues while maintaining a critical-thinking approach under pressure.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead a team of technical professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
  • Provide mentorship and training, developing technical skills and leadership capabilities within the team.
  • Maintain good organizational discipline, ensuring documentation and processes are well-defined and scalable.
