Description

We seek a Director of Internal IT who is strategic, collaborative, and focused on people to define and execute Trackunit’s internal technology agenda. In this role, you’ll be a key driver of our digital transformation—aligning IT capabilities with business goals. With a focused approach on people leadership and long-term IT strategy, you’ll empower our growing global workforce with secure, scalable, and efficient tools and services.
With location in the heart of London, ON we offer you a flexible hybrid setup with the preference of working in the office at least a few days each week. Occasional travel to international sites is to be expected. No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

WHO ARE YOU IDEALLY?

  • You are an experienced IT leader proficient in crafting and carrying out IT strategies that promote growth, scale, and innovation.
  • You bring experience leading people, with a commitment to coaching, developing, and empowering effective teams in a global context.
  • You have deep knowledge of modern enterprise technology systems and tools (infrastructure, security, service management, automation/orchestration, SaaS/cloud environments) and how they support business functions. Tools like O365, Okta, Slack, Adaptive Shield, Workato, SnipeIT are maybe known or of interest.
  • You understand the balance between strategic leadership and pragmatic execution—able to zoom out to assess risks and opportunities while supporting a team that delivers day-to-day value.
  • Your approach is guided in effective architectural and strategic communication.
  • You’ve worked in a global, multi-site environment and are comfortable navigating change, ambiguity, and steady growth.
  • You have managed seamless IT integrations during mergers/acquisitions, minimizing disruption and enabling long-term scalability.
  • You demonstrate effective communication skills and can collaborate effectively across departments and seniority levels.
Don’t meet every single requirement? No worries - this is what we’re looking for ideally, but if you’re super excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification, we encourage you to apply.

OUR HIRING PROCESS

Don’t waste your time on writing the best possible cover letter for the job. We want you to create an impact that matters, and that’s not in the cover letter.

  • Meet and greet a Senior Leader from Engineering and representatives from the IT team, virtually or in person.
  • Personality-based interview. You will be asked to fill out an online personality assessment using Hogan prior to the interview. Our Hogan assessment enables us to understand your abilities and how you align with our team culture. Instead of seeking ‘appropriate’ responses, the priority is to develop a meaningful exchange that illustrates your synergy with the Trackunit team.
  • Assignment-specific interview. You will be given a case to prepare and present to stakeholders you’ll collaborate with closely in the role. We want you to get an insight into some of the concrete work tasks or projects related to the role. You will be given a case to prepare prior to the interview, and at the interview, you will present the case to relevant colleagues from across Trackunit, who you’ll also work closely with in the job.
  • If needed, we’ll complete reference checks and background checks.
  • Offer presentation and walk-through. We’re lucky to have you!
Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a global skilled team of IT professionals, ensuring alignment, development, and collaboration across roles and geographies.
  • Develop and lead Trackunit’s IT strategy in alignment with business goals and digital transformation priorities.
  • Serve as the key IT partner to cross-functional teams, identifying opportunities to improve business processes and user experiences through technology.
  • Oversee and manage governance of IT services and systems, including security, compliance, and infrastructure resiliency.
  • Manage IT budgets, vendors, and tools to ensure cost-effective, scalable, and secure solutions.
  • Promote a strong IT service culture that emphasizes responsiveness, accountability, and proactive support for employees.
