DIRECTOR OF INTERNATIONAL SALES AND MARKETING

The Director of International Sales and Marketing is responsible for profitable growth outside of the United States with a focus on growing the Corkcicle brand in new global markets. They will manage international objectives and initiatives in collaboration with Senior Management, Sales, Marketing and international distributors. This position may be based in Orlando, FL or remote within the United States.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / FLSA STATUS

  • Indoor, open office environment. The office noise level is moderately loud.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time while simultaneously working on the computer and telephone. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
  • Will be required to travel by plane or car to approximately 15% to company shows and/or business meetings per year within the United States and internationally.
  • Full-time / Exempt / Salary range $150,000 - $200,000 annual + Commission

QUALIFICATIONS – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience in developing new international business, ideally in luxury brands.
  • A strong understanding of global market dynamics and local buying preferences by country.
  • Experience in forging new ground in global markets, and evaluating current partners for growth and brand fit.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, a professional demeanor, thought leadership, and flexibility.
  • Outstanding project management, analytical and organization skills to support driving international objectives and projects internally.
  • Ability to problem solve, prioritize, negotiate and juggle changing deadlines.
  • Proven success collaborating with multiple departments while maintaining tact and diplomacy that lead to successful results for international priorities.
  • Strong aptitude for numbers with ability to understand complex business and product strategies
  • Must be proficient with ability to develop his/her own spreadsheets, databases, general correspondence and oral/visual presentations. Advanced MS Excel skills is required. Proficient in CRM tools.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with a positive attitude and the desire to work on a fun team.
  • Ability to work within the core hours of 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with frequent needs to accommodate a flexible schedule outside of core hours / weekdays

Responsibilities
  • Establish Corkcicle as the leading lifestyle brand internationally.
  • Identify key markets and create sales, distribution, PR, and brand building strategy by country for global business development.
  • Propose the appropriate go-to-market approach by region, find the ideal partners to enter the markets profitably and identify and manage appropriate trade shows to attend.
  • Negotiate major contracts and work closely with senior managements and project teams to enter markets.
  • Negotiate shared marketing expenses with in-country distributors.
  • Create metrics and reporting to evaluate success of agents and distributors as well as direct reports.
  • Identify the proper market segmentation and oversee dual brand strategy.
  • Work closely with distributor to identify local needs by country for PR, social media, and event marketing.
  • Collaborate with distributor to guide appropriate collaborations with artists and designers with global appeal as needed.
  • Create strategy for corporate gifting, retail distribution across multiple markets, and custom products by market.
  • Create demand plans and inventory buys by country in close partnership with distributors, sales agents, and internal team members, manage appropriate inventory levels at warehouse locations.
  • Constantly evaluate processes, staffing and strategy for enhancement and efficiency in a high growth market.
  • Be the voice of the global market for cultural relevancy relating to new product development.
  • Reports to the Chief Executive Officer. May have up to 2 direct reports.
