Position Overview We are looking for an experienced Director if IT to lead our enterprise-wide technology strategy across hotels, spas, F&B outlets, and corporate operations. This senior leadership role will shape the roadmap for all systems—including PMS, POS, spa platforms, automation, cybersecurity, new builds, and company-wide digital infrastructure. Salary: $115,000 to $125,000 Full-time/Permanent Shifts: 8-hour/ day 40 work week Location: Canmore or Calgary corporate offices Key Responsibilities TECHNOLOGY LEADERSHIP Develop and execute a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with Basecamp’s hospitality and wellness growth strategy. Work with internal leaders and clients to find technology solutions to operating challenges and business opportunities. Establish company-wide technology policies, standards, SOPs, and training frameworks. Standardize corporate and property-level technology stacks to ensure reliability, scalability, and consistency. Provide strategic leadership and direction to internal IT resources and external partners. Take a leadership role in special projects as required by senior management. (could put in AI, Automation and Innovation section) Oversee hiring of internal IT resources and training of property level application support staff. SYSTEM INTEGRATION & ENTREPRISE ARCHITECTURE Oversee integration of PMS, spa systems, POS, CRM, marketing automation, and finance/ERP tools, including payment systems and revenue management systems. Oversee selection and implementation of the following, including interfaces to other systems: Time clock/payroll systems, guest room door locking systems, access control systems, CCTV/security systems, and audio-visual systems (e.g. restaurant background music). Guest service delivery and local staff communications systems with interfaces to PMS. Engineering systems for preventive maintenance tracking, repair management and inventory control. Telephony systems (telephone switches, cell phones, radios if required). Call centre applications and OTA interfaces. Build and maintain a unified guest profile architecture, including a guest mobile app, to support cross-sell opportunities and data attribution. Ensure seamless system communication across departments to enable efficient workflows and data integrity. CYBERSECURITY, DATA PROTECTION & COMPLIANCE Develop and enforce cybersecurity frameworks, including firewall standards, access controls, and incident response protocols. Oversee corporate and property-level data security, backup systems, and disaster recovery processes. Ensure confidentiality, compliance, and reliability of all corporate, client, and customer data, proprietary systems, and intellectual property. Ensure PCI compliance for all payment systems, including mobile and RFID transactions. Conduct regular security audits, penetration tests, and risk assessments. CORPORATE INFRASTRUCTURE & GOVERNANCE Lead the design and oversight of corporate IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud environments, and identity management. Manage SharePoint migrations and the development of corporate collaboration platforms. Establish lifecycle management standards for software, devices, and user access controls. Oversee enterprise licensing and contract management. Prepare the annual IT operational and capital budgets, schedules, and expenditures; analyze variances, and initiate corrective action as needed. Ensure all IT projects are budgeted, costs forecast, and systems implemented within agreed timeframes. AI, AUTOMATION & INNOVATION Identify and implement AI-driven opportunities for workflow optimization across departments (operations, spa, revenue, marketing, HR, finance). Evaluate and deploy predictive analytics tools for maintenance, guest behaviour forecasting, and demand planning. Lead pilots and scale deployments of new technologies that enhance productivity and guest experience. NEW BUILDS, RENOVATIONS & LARGE-SCALE PROJECTS Develop technology specifications, infrastructure requirements, and design criteria for all new properties and renovations. Oversee technology RFPs, vendor selection, tender documents, vendor implementations in compliance with contracted scope, and compliance with project timelines. Coordinate with Construction/Development, Operations, Spa, and Facilities to align technology with operational needs. VENDOR, PARTNER & MSP MANAGEMENT Manage contracts, SLAs, and performance of software vendors, MSPs, and infrastructure partners. Negotiate pricing, service levels, and long-term platform agreements. Ensure vendor performance supports property operations and corporate strategic goals. Requirements 8–10 years of progressive IT leadership experience in hospitality, real estate, or multi-site operations. Deep experience with PMS, POS, CRM, spa systems, and enterprise-level integrations. Experience with implementing the following specific systems is highly preferred: Mews, Trybe, Revinate, Canary, Silverware, Ideas, QuickBooks. Strong current working knowledge of systems architecture, system design, hardware, payment gateways, transactional website development, database development, information management, help desk, security design, PCI compliance, networks, and reporting. Strong working knowledge of relevant industries and technologies, including integrated hospitality solutions, guest room door locking systems, access control and CCTV systems, background music systems, call centres, telecom/cellular/mobile data, credit card payment processing, and multilingual, multi-currency transactional websites and databases. Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks. Expertise in cloud systems, networking, data governance, and identity management. Experience working with APIs, automation platforms (Zapier, Make), and AI-driven tools. Strong leadership, vendor management, and cross-functional communication skills. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA an asset. Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, influencing and prioritizing skills. Ability to work under pressure, often with overlapping priorities and deadlines. Some travel is required.
