THE GIG // As a key leader, the Director of IT will oversee and optimize all aspects of technology operations and implementation of new systems and policies. This role will play a pivotal role in enhancing the guest and team experience. THE FINE PRINT // We know there’s more to an individual than can be expressed on a resumé. Core Responsibilities & Oversight Develop and execute a long-term technology strategy that aligns with HomeState’s aggressive growth trajectory. Oversee all technology operations and network security to provide guidance and alignment for achieving company goals. Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by ownership. Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine and prioritize technology needs. Propose effective equipment and software to meet the needs of the organization. Lead all device management activities. Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and supply analysis, projections and reports to leadership. Coordinate software licensing, hardware procurement, telecom services, and support contracts. Manage relationships with external IT vendors, service providers, and contractors. Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts Provide best in class support for internal users, systems, and applications Evaluate and respond to cybersecurity threats. Lead system improvements, upgrades, security best practices, and network resilience. Leadership & Strategic Growth Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation and excellence. Develop financial plans, budgets and cost-saving initiatives to drive profitability and scalability. Act as a key advisor to ownership, providing insights on industry trends, risks and opportunities. Establish and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships with operations, finance, marketing, facilities, catering and HR. Take an active, hands-on role in the field, working closely with teams to ensure executional excellence and operational effectiveness. Oversee the implementation of new technology solutions. Culture The Director of IT is responsible for translating the HomeState vision of hospitality in the digital space. Make each day better than before by driving operational improvements and leverage learnings of day to day challenges. Practice high discretion and decision making to project potential risks, especially on substantive issues. Serve as an ambassador, both internally and externally in the community. Follow all HomeState standards, sanitation guidelines, policies or procedures to ensure that we provide guests the highest quality, delivering caring hospitality, and embodying the HomeState mission and core values. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field preferred. 10+ years in IT operations, with 8+ years in leadership roles building high performing teams for scale. Proven success in managing a blend of IT and enterprise application workstreams across complex, high-growth environments. Deep understanding of restaurant application architecture, systems integration, and IT governance. Expertise in Google Workspace, ERP, HRIS, CRM, and cloud platforms. Relevant experience with Toast POS, Paytronix, and R365 is a plus. Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills required; must be strategic, self-motivated, agile, problem solving and leadership skills, and resilient in a fast paced business environment. Kind, personable, servant nature, and enthusiastic, bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Availability to work a minimum of five days per week. Extended hours and/or a sixth day may occasionally be required. Weekends, day shifts and evening shifts may be required. Must maintain regular, predictable attendance, which includes attendance at all scheduled shifts, training and meetings. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time (6 or more hours per shift, excluding break times). Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 40 pounds (tech equipment, etc.) Ability to frequently bend and reach overhead. Ability to lift and use tools, and grip equipment such as screwdrivers or other tech equipment. Ability to perform certain repetitive motion activities (e.g., typing, programming, etc.) Ability to work in tight spaces. Ability to sit, squat, kneel and climb occasionally. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
