The Peninsula London is seeking to hire a personable Director of Learning and Talent Development who has strong experience opening luxury hotels whilst creating programmes that allow newly formed teams to succeed in fun highly paced environments.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and implement learning strategies that align with organizational goals, ensuring colleagues have the necessary skills to meet the hotel’s expectations
  • Design, deliver, oversee and evaluate training programs, including onboarding, technical skills training, leadership development, and compliance training
  • Work closely with department heads and senior management to understand training needs, foster a culture of continuous learning, and ensure cohesive talent development efforts across the organization
  • Communicate actively on learning and development initiatives and hotel updates to enhance knowledge sharing across the building
  • Prepare the yearly learning and development budget taking into consideration all departments’ technical training needs
  • Monitor performance throughout the hotel and provide advice to department heads on succession planning and continuous team growth

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years relevant Learning and Development practical experience in the same capacity (ideally within the luxury hotel segment or luxury retail).
  • 5-star hotel or large-scale operation (highly desirable)
  • Strong team leader, applies creativity to work, highly adaptable, naturally positive with a fun attitude
  • Fluent English communication proficiency
  • Exceptional personal presentation as this role will be a brand ambassador
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, e.g. Words, Excel, PowerPoint
