Company Description Rixos Premium Qetaifan Island North Rixos Premium Qetaifan Island North comprises a 345-key hotel, along with a souq encompassing 11,000sqm of leasing space, a beach club, a theme park, and a waterpark. The resort boasts panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Rixos plans to provide a platform for showcasing Qatar as a tourism destination. One of the country’s biggest draws will be Qetaifan Island North’s Meryal Waterpark attraction. The Rig 1938 is the world’s highest tower of its kind, reaching 82 metres. Job Description Director of Learning & Development This position is responsible for leading the strategic planning and implementation of all training and development initiatives across the hotel, waterpark, and beach club. Partner with senior leaders to design and deliver impactful programs that align with our brand values, operational goals, and guest expectations, ensuring every team member has the tools to grow and succeed. Partner with the Director, People & Culture, to align the L&D strategy with the overall people strategy and brand vision. Develop and execute a cluster-wide L&D strategy, aligned with business priorities and brand standards. Design, implement, and evaluate training programs for all departments, including front office, F&B, operations, safety, guest services, and leisure. Drive leadership development, succession planning, and talent pipeline initiatives. Lead onboarding programs to deliver a seamless and engaging new hire experience. Monitor training effectiveness through KPIs, audits, feedback, and operational performance. Partner with department heads and the P&C team to identify learning needs and opportunities for development. Promote a culture of continuous learning, excellence, and innovation. Ensure compliance with local training requirements, health & safety, and hospitality best practices. Regularly evaluate training effectiveness through post-training assessments, feedback, and ROI analysis. Manage L&D budgets, resources, and vendor relationships efficiently. Support internal communication and engagement efforts in collaboration with the People & Culture and Marketing teams. Qualifications Proven experience of 5–7 years in a similar role within luxury hospitality, ideally in a cluster or resort complex environment. Previous experience in the Middle East is preferred. Experience supporting diverse operations, including hotels, resorts, theme parks, or leisure venues. Strong understanding of hospitality service excellence and guest-centric training. Expertise in instructional design, facilitation, coaching, and digital learning platforms. A people-first leader with outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Bachelor’s degree in HR, Education, Business, or a related field (Master’s or certifications in L&D/Training preferred). Multilingual skills and cultural awareness are a plus. Additional Information
