Description

We are seeking an accomplished Learning & Development leader to design, deliver, and scale comprehensive talent management and enablement initiatives that elevate employee performance, drive adoption of key technologies, and strengthen organizational culture. This high-visibility role partners closely with staff, leadership, HR, and IT to align people development strategies with business objectives in a dynamic, fast-paced professional services environment.
The Director of Learning Services will oversee the creation of impactful learning paths, lead a team of L&D professionals, and drive adoption of new systems, platforms, and processes through effective change management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Talent Management, or Organizational Development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success building and managing learning programs for technology applications in professional services (law firm experience strongly preferred).
  • Expertise in instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM), adult learning principles, and modern learning techniques for information workers.
  • Experience designing and leading change management programs in mid-market or large organizations.
  • Demonstrated success with LMS development, courseware creation, and driving adoption of enterprise systems.
  • Strong technology and AI aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new tools and translate them into effective learning experiences.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills; proven ability to influence decisions, build consensus, and drive both lateral and vertical change.
  • Track record of stable career progression (ideally no more than 2 job changes in the past 10 years).
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education, Organizational Development, HR, or IT strongly preferred. Certifications in instructional design, learning technologies, or change management a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and manage a team of learning professionals in designing and delivering learning programs across technical, professional, and leadership domains.
  • Partner with HRBPs, IT, executives, and practice leaders to identify skill gaps and align targeted learning solutions with priorities.
  • Design and implement blended learning programs (ILT, VILT, eLearning, microlearning, and on-demand) that address onboarding, leadership, performance management, and technology adoption.
  • Develop and manage a modern Learning Management System (LMS/LXP), ensuring engaging, user-friendly, and scalable content delivery.
  • Build and promote “Centers of Excellence” to accelerate adoption of enterprise software, AI tools, and emerging technologies, maximizing ROI on technology investments.
  • Serve as a change management leader for system updates, deployments, and process transformations—anticipating learning needs, mitigating adoption risks, and ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Create and deliver onboarding programs to accelerate new hire integration and reduce time-to-productivity.
  • Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and internal SMEs to evaluate and deploy innovative learning solutions.
  • Collect and analyze learner data, feedback, and KPIs to measure program effectiveness, adapt learning experiences, and report outcomes to leadership.
  • Provide hands-on leadership at the ground level, balancing strategic planning with mastery of details in an environment of shifting priorities and multiple simultaneous projects.
