The Crown Prosecution Service is recruiting two Directors of Legal Services to join the senior executive team.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for people with a proven track record of inspiring leadership, and the ability to motivate high performing teams. You must have experience of operating effectively under pressure and scrutiny. Strong analytical ability and experience of providing legal advice and input into complex and sensitive casework is essential.
You must be a professionally qualified solicitor or barrister with 10 years post-qualified experience, with an extensive record of successfully practising criminal law or civil litigation.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Director of Legal Services, you work with the Director of Public Prosecutions as part of our senior executive team. You collectively manage all the chief crown prosecutors across England and Wales, providing visible and inspiring leadership to ensure delivery of our organisational vision and objectives. You provide quality assurance on legal decision-making and casework progression, ensuring that quality standards and values are met. This role has shared accountability to set the operational direction and legal service priorities for the areas and casework divisions. Together, you lead and manage performance against them to continuously improve our service.
