Description Summary: The Director of Manufacturing / Shop Foreman leads all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and scheduling. This role ensures that manufacturing processes run efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who excels at optimizing performance, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a strong culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork. Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee daily plant operations to ensure productivity, efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards. Establish and enforce operational policies, procedures, and safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials. Plan, organize, and manage the work of production teams to achieve organizational goals and timelines. Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to set and achieve production and business objectives. Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring optimal cost control and vendor performance. Monitor budgets and operating expenses, ensuring alignment with company financial targets. Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving and efficiency initiatives. Promote a proactive safety culture by leading safety meetings, conducting audits, and addressing issues promptly. Investigate and resolve customer or shipping concerns, implementing corrective actions as necessary. Coordinate production schedules, manage workflow, and ensure quality standards are consistently upheld. Oversee maintenance operations to ensure equipment, vehicles, and facilities remain in peak working condition. Lead, train, and mentor staff to develop a high-performing, engaged, and safety-focused workforce. Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred. Familiar with discrete manufacturing in a job shop environment Able to establish KPIs to measure performance and create data driven efferences on the shop floor for all facets of the manufacturing process 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience required. 5+ years of management or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and analyze operational data. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Comprehensive understanding of safety standards, production scheduling, and maintenance best practices.
