ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

One of the most prominent and innovative cannabis brands in the U.S. is seeking a transformational General Manager to lead its Michigan operations. This is a mission-critical leadership role, overseeing the full scope of cannabis product manufacturing at the state’s most strategic production hub. With Michigan as the company’s largest revenue-generating market, this role is central to ongoing growth and expansion plans into neighboring markets.
This is an immediate hire, and the selected candidate will be positioned for future promotion with high performance.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be local to or willing to relocate to the Metro Detroit area.
  • Available to be onsite the majority of the time (80–90%) and on-call as needed.
  • Willing to travel out of state for leadership meetings and potential expansion initiatives.
  • Will undergo a Predictive Index Assessment as part of the interview process.
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own day-to-day production and operational oversight of the Michigan manufacturing facility.
  • Drive excellence across the entire cannabis product lifecycle: supply chain, production, automation, distribution, and compliance.
  • Lead and mentor a team of department managers (5–6 direct reports) across core operational functions.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and improve throughput.
  • Restore stability and rebuild trust across teams—own damage control and initiate a strong cultural transformation.
  • Collaborate closely with national leadership, providing regular updates and aligning facility operations with broader corporate strategy.
  • Implement scalable systems and processes in preparation for automation and future expansion.
  • Lead P&L responsibilities and ensure key operational KPIs are met or exceeded.
  • Remain agile in a fast-paced, high-growth, and constantly evolving environment.
