Through strategic initiatives and partnerships, we aim to stimulate innovation, attract investment, and enhance the economic landscape.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this position holds ultimate responsibility for the two organizations’ marketing activities, and oversees the development and delivery of a fully integrated marketing strategy for both. The Marketing Director also assists in special projects as assigned by the Executive Director, including the annual BLDC Membership Drive and the BLDC Annual Dinner.
Business recruitment is also a key facet of this position, with the successful candidate working closely with Butte-Silver Bow’s Community Development team, as well as key state partners, in bringing new businesses to Butte. Activities will include participation in, and assisting in the organization of, state, regional and nationwide recruitment events, and working closely with Montana Department of Commerce representatives on recruiting efforts.
Other duties include understanding a variety of different businesses and their functions and how we can help with business recruitment; and fostering partnerships with other community stakeholders to assist with promotion of southwestern Montana.
The successful candidate is creative and enjoys working within a small, entrepreneurial environment that is mission-driven, results-driven, and community-oriented. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.
Other important assets include the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and the ability to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
ABILITIES AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Position requires the skills to talk to and communicate with the public, co-workers, and groups. Sits at a desk, at meetings, and in vehicles for extended periods of time.
Uses hands and fingers to handle the telephone, computer, office equipment, and to write.
Vision abilities require the skill to review technical and legal documents, reports, telephone numbers, analytical and statistical reports.
Stands and walks short distances. Stoops and bends, handles and lifts books, papers, and office equipment up to 25 pounds.
Some travel is required to locations within our service region when performing job duties.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Must have, and maintain, a valid Montana driver’s license.
