Ministerial Character The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity at St. John Neumann, which the Bishop has entrusted to him. He makes Christ’s mission present and enduring in the parish. In order to fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares his mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them. Positions employed at St. John Neumann help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church. The Director of Marketing and Communications ensures consistent, mission-aligned messaging and materials serving parishioners, supporting ministries, and inviting those not currently attending to encounter Christ and become part of our parish community. This position reports to the Director of Business Operations and works collaboratively with the Director of Stewardship and the Associate Director of Parish Experience to support parish priorities and initiatives. Key Responsibilities As an integral part of your ministry for the Church as carried out in this position, support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of St John Neumann Catholic Church in both your professional and personal life. Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church. Continuously grow in your ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed. Practicing Catholic in good standing Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communication strategies aligned with our mission of evangelization and parish engagement. Oversee the creation and implementation of marketing campaigns across digital, print, and social media platforms Develop and manage an annual communications calendar aligned with the liturgical year and parish initiatives Lead production of parish communications, including weekly bulletin, TV monitors, parish newsletters, email communications/marketing, website content, social media platforms, print/digital promotional items, and a photography/video library Ensure consistency and relevance of parish identity across all channels Manage marketing and communications budget and vendors to ensure timely and effective production Coordinate with other staff to support parish events and initiatives Monitor and analyze marketing trends to create innovative strategies Prepare and present reports on marketing and communication metrics to senior leadership Working Conditions: All employees of the Parish are engaged in ministry and closely tied to the Pastor in the exercise of his ministry and obligations to the church. The Parish is an at-will employer. All buildings and vehicles owned by the Parish are tobacco free. Working on weekends, evenings, and some holidays may be required. Will be exposed to religious ceremonies, conduct, and speech, including Roman Catholic Christian prayer and liturgical celebrations. Will be required to adhere to established dress codes and conduct standards. Requirements Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred 5 years of experience in a marketing or communications leadership role Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, and content management Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and consistency Creative mindset with ability to communicate mission-driven messages clearly and compellingly Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic marketing plans Leadership skills with experience managing internal and external resources Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with tight deadlines
